RingSide Experience

It has been said that “nature writes the menu” and this adage guides our culinary path from the seasons of fresh fish to the harvest of local produce. We are fortunate to be close to the ocean and walking distance to premier farmer’s markets. RingSide Fish House guests will find a contemporary Northwest fish house with a modern accent.

The Peterson family, 3rd generation owners of RingSide Hospitality Group, after more than 65 years serving steaks at Portland’s venerable RingSide Steakhouse, proudly opened RingSide Fish House to the public on Monday, July 18, 2011.

RingSide Fish House achieves to be to fresh seafood what RingSide Steakhouse has become to legendary steaks. The menu includes local Oysters, Dungeness Crab, King Salmon, Alaskan Halibut, day boat Sea Scallops and more depending on seasonal availability. The lunch menu includes the same fresh seafood as well as sandwiches, soups and salads.

Ringside Fish House is one of the few “Quality” late-night restaurants in Portland. A renowned happy hour is available 7 days a week both early and late night. The menu is diverse to include a steak bites, mussels, 1/4 lb peel and eat shrimp and everything in between.

Guests can select an appropriate wine from our list of over 600 labels. Wine Spectator Magazine named RingSide Fish House “One of The Best Restaurants in the World for Wine Lovers”, awarding us the “Best of Award of Excellence”. OpenTable recognized the restaurant with the Diner’s Choice Award for best seafood. The Fish House has earned a 4 star rating from TripAdvisor to be awarded the 2012 Certificate of Excellence.

The Fox Tower restaurant is located in the South Park Blocks adjacent to the Cultural District near the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, the Portland Center for the Performing Arts and the Portland Art Museum. The restaurant also borders the Signature Downtown Retail Corridor.

The 8,500 sq. foot RingSide Fox Tower location is on the Mezzanine level overlooking Director Park with more than 250 seats (134 dining room, 36 private dining & 96 bar). The private dining room is fully equipped with WiFi and AV perfect for business meetings as well as social functions.

EXECUTIVE CHEF DAVID EZELLE

Born in Orange County, CA, David Ezelle relocated to the Northwest in the 2004 after spending more than a decade working in Northern California with highly recognizable restaurant groups and respected chefs.

David made his way to college in Missouri, eventually taking part time work in restaurants as a way to generate income to pay for school. It wasn’t until his mid-twenties that David changed gears and made a path to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY graduating in 1995.

Upon graduation from CIA, David joined Real Restaurant hired by co-founders Bill Upson, Bill Higgins and Cindy Pawlcyn. Chef David found mentorship from Doug “Bix” Biederbeck and Gordon Drysdale partners of several Bay Area iconic restaurants as Chef David worked his way up the kitchen ranks at Real Restaurant Group.

Chef Ezelle made his way to Portland in 2004 to move closer to his family. It wasn’t long before he found his way back at the helm of the kitchen, this time with Paragon, a part of the Moana Restaurant Group. Chef David took a hiatus from Paragon when Moana management sent him into their seafood restaurant, Bay 13 as Executive Chef to steady that kitchen before eventually returning to Paragon.

Chef David describes his cooking as one with an honest, straight-forward approach allowing the ingredients to shine in each dish he creates. He values that the Northwest is a region that typically has chefs showing an ingredient driven approachability.

When not in the kitchen at the Fish House Chef David resides in Portland finding time for his favorite non-cooking hobbies; golf, scuba diving and fly fishing.

The Space
RingSide Fish House offers two spaces within the venue that may be used for private dining; The Park Avenue Room and The Yamhill Room. Your event has the option of a hosted bar, hosted valet, floral accommodations and specialty rentals. With an impeccable, dedicated service staff for private events and wine director on-site, our elegant, upscale spaces are the perfect setting for your next event.

The Park Avenue Room

Capacity: 32 Sit-Down | 50 Reception

The Park Avenue Private Dining Room is a completely private space just off of the grand stairway entrance that can accommodate up to 32 guests for a sit down dinner or luncheon and up to 50 for a reception. The room features state of the art AV equipment including an overhead high definition projector, drop down screen, wireless Ethernet, cable programming, sound, phone lines and wireless polycom conference phone for your business needs.

The Yamhill Room

Capacity: 55 Sit-Down | 70 Reception

The Yamhill Room is a guest favorite as it has beautiful views of Director Park and its playful fountain in the day and its glass canopy’s tapestry of lights at night. The room is ideal for receptions with the space to accommodate up to 80 guests or up to 55 for a seated dinner or lunch.
